Plumpton College, East Sussex

Plumpton College is situated on the outskirts of Brighton and offers courses in agriculture, horticulture and animals and is famous for it's vineyards. The College sought to update it's Wine Research Centre which was dated with tired facilities. From the initial concept design we secured the commission and worked in collaboration with MHD Architects Brighton, to take the project through to construction.The new design and remodelling helped the College to gain national and international recognition. The rolling wave-like sedum “Green” roof reflects the rolling hills of the nearby Sussex Downs and breaks up the mass of the double height winery building behind. Air source heat pumps supply the underfloor heating and hot water system.
