Haven Hall, previously the Overstrand Hotel, was an extensive renovation and restoration project transforming the antiquated hotel into a luxury retreat. Alterations included adding single-storey rear and front extensions, changes to fenestration including new roof lights on the east, north and south elevations, two dormer windows and a balcony on the south elevation, as well as new canopies on the east and west elevations - and replacement windows.
Internally, Haven Hall was completely gutted and brought back to walls, floors and rafters with internal walls knocked down, to regain the original layout lost when the hotel was converted in the 50s.
External works included the roof, stonework, and the addition of an orangery extension. The garden was landscaped, with new levels, a patio and Lutyen steps designed to restore the property to its origins.
